Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor stated that President-elect Prabowo Subianto had entrusted him to manage the Hajj and Umrah agency in Indonesia.

According to Noor, the ministerial-level Hajj management agency can organize the system and also the Hajj regulations to realize proper and transparent Hajj implementation.

On the other hand, the large number of Muslims in Indonesia also serves as the foundation for the establishment of the Hajj and Umrah agency to oversee the activity in the future and accommodate Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to conduct their pilgrimage comfortably and safely in the future, Noor remarked.

"This is a ministerial-level agency established by Prabowo for acceleration and also improvement," he explained.

Moreover, the deputy minister stated that Indonesia should have its own agency that focuses on managing Hajj and Umrah due to its large number of Muslims and increasing number of requests to undertake pilgrimage to the Holy Land every year.

"We are a country with a large number of Muslims. Therefore, improvements to the Hajj system must be carried out immediately," he stated.

Later, Noor, who will serve as deputy head of the Hajj and Umrah agency, will partner with Gus Irfan Yusuf, as the agency head, and Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak to manage the Hajj and Umrah agency.
