Muhadjir was inaugurated along with six other special presidential advisors by Prabowo at the State Palace on Tuesday.
The inauguration was based on Presidential Decree Number 140P of 2024 concerning the Appointment of Special Advisors to the President.
"The special advisor will provide advice. President Prabowo has paid special attention to Hajj issues in Indonesia," Effendy remarked when met on Tuesday.
Effendy, who earlier served as coordinating minister for human development and culture in the previous administration, is viewed as having mastered the field since his ministry also covers the Religious Affairs Ministry which handles Hajj organization.
He had also been urged to meet Prabowo to provide inputs on such issues.

During his ministerial tenure, Effendy said Prabowo had ordered him to analyze the Hajj organization for Indonesian pilgrims, including evaluation and monitoring.
"Overall, the handling of the Hajj organization has been running well. However, the component of Hajj is 30 percent worship and 70 percent of accommodation, transportation, consumption, catering, administrative, and convenience to the pilgrims," he emphasized.
On Tuesday, Prabowo officiated special presidential advisors: Wiranto for Politics and Security, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan for Digitalization and Government Technology, and Dudung Abudrachman for National Defense and Chairman of the Defense Industry Policy Committee.
Furthermore, Prabowi installed Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro for Economic Affairs and National Development, Purnomo Yusgiantoro for Energy Affairs, and Terawan Agus Putranto for National Health.
Those special presidential advisors will carry out certain tasks assigned by the president, excluding those covered in the organizational structure of ministries and other government agencies.
On Monday (October 21), Prabowo also officiated 48 ministers and 55 deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024-2029 Period at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
