"We have an agreement to support the president's program by synergizing all policies needed by the agriculture minister," he noted at the office of the Ministry of Agriculture in Jakarta on Tuesday.
To support the program, Thohir spoke of having invited the president directors of state-run logistics company Bulog and state-run fertilizer company Pupuk Indonesia to support meeting the Ministry of Agriculture's requirements.
Moreover, Thohir invited the state-owned plantation company PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (PTPN) to support land allocation for the rice field development program.
Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman stated that collaboration with the Ministry of SOEs gives new energy for achieving food self-sufficiency.

Furthermore, he noted that collaboration between ministries would accelerate the realization of food self-sufficiency targeted in four years.
"God willing, it can be achieved through collaboration with the SOEs minister, public works minister, and others. We have discussed it. God willing, we can achieve it as soon as possible," he remarked.
Earlier, while delivering his inaugural address here on Sunday, President Prabowo Subianto expressed optimism that Indonesia would achieve food self-sufficiency in four to five years.
She affirmed that such optimism springs from his discussions with relevant experts. To this end, it is crucial to realize food self-sufficiency in the country to prevent dependence on food commodities from other countries.
Moreover, he remarked that during a crisis, no country would want to sell its food commodities to others.
