Earlier, Prabowo instructed the ministry to pursue eight priority programs, including strengthening education, science, technology, and digitalization.
In a statement released by his office on Friday, Pratikno said that the ministry should implement three measures to support priority programs in the field of education.
"First, provide a digital platform for Islamic boarding schools, especially for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects," he elaborated.
He drew attention to the need for a digital platform for mathematics learning.
According to the minister, President Prabowo is paying great attention to improving the quality of science and technology, which can be achieved through the development of mathematics learning, especially at the elementary school level.
"Especially for mathematics, and will be followed by languages subject," he added.
The second measure is the provision of infrastructure, such as laboratories. According to Pratikno, a laboratory can support the teaching and learning process by making it more interesting.
"The learning process must be interesting for students. Therefore, it requires a supporting infrastructure," he explained.
The third measure is ensuring planning and budgeting for the program.
"We hope the Religious Affairs Minister can look at the budget so we can discuss the implementation of this program," Pratikno said.
Meanwhile, Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar expressed his readiness to support Prabowo's priority programs.
"We will follow up on President Prabowo's mandate as soon as possible," he assured.
Umar also agreed that the character education provided by Islamic boarding schools and other religious educational institutions would be more complete by building mastery of science, technology, and digitalization.
On the commemoration of the 2024 Santri Day, Umar urged the schools to master science and technology.
"Embrace the future with enthusiasm and perseverance. Master science and technology," he said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
