"We are ready to collaborate. The Sports Fund and Business Management Institution (LPDUK) is prepared to implement this," Ariotedjo stated during a meeting with Acting President Director of InJourney, Maya Watono, and her team, as quoted from the official Ministry of Youth and Sports website in Jakarta on Friday.
He noted that the ministry has been involved in earlier events organized by InJourney, including the Aquabike World Championship in 2023.
Hence, Dito welcomed the holding of a similar event set to take place again in 2024 and assured that his ministry is prepared to collaborate through LPDUK.
Meanwhile, Acting President Director of InJourney, Maya Watono, stated that the event aims to boost the revival of Indonesia's tourism sector.

Currently, she explained that InJourney, as the holding ecosystem of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), is focused on developing tourism in several priority destinations, including Borobudur, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, Likupang, and Lake Toba, as well as the Sanur Special Economic Zone (KEK), which is currently under development.
In the context of tourism promotion, various international-scale events will be held, including the Aquabike World Championship, which combines sports with an annual celebration.
"We are here to open collaboration regarding events relevant to the Ministry of Youth and Sports," she remarked.
The series of the Aquabike Jetski World Championship 2024 will be presented across four regencies around Lake Toba: Karo, Samosir, Simalungun, and Dairi.
The event, themed "United Spirit of Lake Toba," will feature 90 jetski athletes from various countries, along with 10 national athletes.
