"As the host country, I expect our Indonesian riders to perform at their best and achieve outstanding results," he stated during a meeting with the InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) team on Monday.
The meeting focused on preparations for the championship, to take place from November 13-17.
Hidayat emphasized that the Indonesian team can capitalize on their home-field advantage to perform optimally and surpass previous achievements.
"I hope we not only successfully host the event but also achieve significant results with our athletes," he added.
He assured the ITDC team of the Youth and Sports Ministry's full support to make the event a success and showcase Indonesia's capability to host world-class events.
He said the ministry's support aims to encourage the improvement of Indonesian jetski athletes' performance on the international stage.
Meanwhile, ITDC's Director of Commerce, Troy Reza Warokka, reported that preparations for the competition are progressing smoothly with the support of various parties.
He revealed that the 2024 Lake Toba Aquabike Jetski World Championship has attracted 73 world-class racers from 30 countries.
As the host nation, Indonesia will field 10 riders in two race categories: endurance and sprint.
