Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto has urged law enforcement officers to take firm action against four major crimes—online gambling, drugs, smuggling, and corruption. "The president emphasized that these four crimes must be handled seriously. First is online gambling, second is drugs, third is smuggling, and last is corruption," Head of the Presidential Communications Office Hasan Nasbi said at the Presidential Office here Wednesday.

Prabowo conveyed this during a meeting with ministers to discuss various issues, including law enforcement against the four crimes, before he left for a state visit.

He instructed the General Attorney's Office and the police to take firm action against the crimes.

"The president asked law enforcement officers not to hesitate in upholding the law regarding these four issues. So, the Attorney General and the police were asked by the president not to hesitate to take firm action regarding the four issues above," Hasan said.

Starting Friday, President Prabowo will make courtesy visits to China, the United States, and the United Kingdom, as well as attend two summits—the APEC Summit in Peru and the G20 Summit in Brazil, according to the direction provided during the plenary cabinet meeting.

The president said that despite his desire to focus on domestic affairs, his overseas trip would be both strategic and beneficial.

"There are many benefits to developing the potential for cooperation and the Indonesian economy. Therefore, he undertook this trip abroad," Hasan said.
