Makassar, South Sulawesi (ANTARA) - The Korpri Musabaqoh Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) is a way for state apparatus to do good deeds and present a positive image, Chairman of the Indonesian Civil Servants Corps (Korpri) Management Board, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, stated.

Fakrulloh noted in his statement received here on Wednesday that any region in the country indubitably wants to leave a good legacy for the nation and the people.

Hence, he affirmed that the 7th Kopri MTQ held in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, on November 3-10, is deemed to serve as a platform for civil servants to continue to do good deeds.

"All of us want to leave (behind) traces of goodness, and for that, we continue to preach goodness starting in family life, bureaucracy, and society," he stated.

Fakrulloh, concurrently the acting governor of South Sulawesi, invited all civil servants in 54 ministries and government agencies and 35 provinces across Indonesia to use the 7th Korpri National MTQ as an opportunity for evaluation, both in the bureaucratic environment and in the community.

"Let us make this MTQ an inspiration to work well by applying Quran values in bureaucratic life," he remarked.

At the Korpri National MTQ event in Palangka Raya, Fakrulloh witnessed a series of competitions, such as the Quran recitation and the Friday sermon competitions.

Fakrulloh, accompanied by other officials, also visited the location of the prayer competition held in the hall of the Central Kalimantan Transportation Office.

Moreover, the Khat Al-Quran competition was held to focus on the beauty of Islamic calligraphy, with the classical digital contemporary and contemporary digital groups.

The MTQ is a national Quran recitation competition that was first held in Makassar, South Sulawesi, in 1968.
