… we must ensure that the homecoming and return flows can run smoothly, safely…
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Pratikno, emphasized the importance of preparations on the part of ministries and agencies to welcome the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays.

"The Christmas and New Year holidays are a big momentum, and we must ensure that the homecoming and return flows can run smoothly, safely, orderly, and comfortably," he expounded here after chairing a ministerial coordination meeting on Friday.

He urged the concerned ministries, the Indonesian Military (TNI), and the National Police (Polri) to ensure that the transportation flow during the year-end holiday period runs safely and smoothly.

Pratikno underlined the need to anticipate potential threats that can interfere with the homecoming and return flows. One of the threats is the rainy season, which could trigger hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and landslides.

According to the minister, preparatory efforts toward the year-end holiday season must be undertaken with care and cover all aspects, ranging from infrastructure and public transportation to ensuring the availability of logistics.
