Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia retains its economic resilience, as reflected in the Indonesia Economic Survey conducted by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated.

"The survey was carried out in the midst of a global situation that is full of dynamics. However, Indonesia was able to manage its economic performance well," she remarked here on Tuesday.

Projections suggest Indonesia will maintain an economic growth trajectory of around five percent by this year's end, propelled by robust domestic consumption, sustained investment, and a dynamic manufacturing sector, particularly through industrial downstream strategies.

On the other hand, inflation was under control at 1.71 percent as of October 2024, and the trade surplus lasted for 54 consecutive months. These achievements are the indicators of Indonesia's economic fundamentals and strengths.

"We have a vision to become an inclusive and high-income country by strengthening the economic structure through industrial downstreaming, especially for strategic minerals, such as copper and nickel," Minister Indrawati remarked.

She also emphasized the importance of human resource development and commitment to green transition.

Hence, the minister highlighted that one of the government's priorities is to strengthen human resource development through improvements in the education and health sectors and the provision of nutritious food.

Indonesia is committed to green transition by increasing the use of renewable energy.

She commended OECD Secretary General Mathias Cormann for his support for Indonesia's economic transformation.

"The partnership between Indonesia and the OECD shows a shared commitment to continue learning and contribute positively to the global economy," she remarked.

The launch of the 2024 OECD Indonesia Economic Survey is expected to provide valuable insights for Indonesia in continuing its economic reform agenda and realizing its goal as an inclusive and developed high-income country.
