"If we are not aware of the benefits of AI, we will be left behind. On the other hand, we must also be aware of the potential problems that can arise," the ministry's director of junior high schools, Imran, explained here on Tuesday.
During a discussion at the Acer Edu Summit 2024, he said that the first dimension is a human-centered mindset, which emphasizes that AI technology is a tool to help humans, hence, its use must not let AI dominate humans.
"AI is a tool; don't let the tool manage us, it is the other way around," he added.
Touching on the second dimension, AI ethics, Imran highlighted the technology's ability to complete tasks requested by users. However, he stressed the need to ensure the truth of the information generated by AI.
The third dimension concerns AI techniques and application, which is about the integration of AI into other technologies. The fourth dimension is AI system design, which is related to competence in using AI.
Meanwhile, two things need to be paid attention to in using AI in the field of education. Imran said that the first thing is to understand AI itself, including its use, benefits, and impact.
The second is understanding its integration into the field of education.
"It is about how teachers can be assisted in carrying out their main duties, such as (in) making plans, teaching, assessing and measuring, and evaluating (the learning) process. With AI, it should be faster," he said.
