"We declare... (we) won the Jakarta gubernatorial election in one round with 50.07 percent," Pramono Anung said at a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.
The former cabinet secretary said that the figure was based on the real-count results from the Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU) and the official vote recapitulation forms from all polling stations as of Thursday.
The results showed that the candidate pair won 2,183,577 votes, or 50.07 percent, exceeding the minimum requirements to be declared the winner in a single round of the election.
"One vote means a lot in this gubernatorial race," Pramono said.
However, he said that he and his running mate were still waiting for the official announcement of the manual recapitulation results from the KPU.
Pramono commended the transparency and openness in the vote-counting process, saying that the Jakarta KPU upheld democratic values transparently and in the interests of Jakarta.
He also expressed gratitude to the National Police (Polri) and the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) for ensuring honest, safe, and fair elections.
Three candidate pairs competed in the Jakarta regional head election on November 27: Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana, and Pramono Anung-Rano Karno.
