Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has issued directives to the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform on public service reform and technology-based public services.

"I highlight two things that are the President's concern, the first is public service reform and the second is about technology-based service, and these have certainly become a concern for all of us," State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Rini Widyantini said.

At the launch of 42 public service malls (MPPs) across Indonesia here on Thursday, she informed that the President has also asked her ministry to get to know the needs of the community and get closer to it.

The government is continuing to carry out bureaucratic reform because it is believed to be a "driver" that can determine the achievement of development targets in the country, Minister Widyantini added.

"The better the bureaucracy is, the faster the services will be provided to the community, and the faster it will be to solve problems felt by the community," she expounded.

Therefore, she said that public service malls can be places to improve public service governance, in accordance with the President's directive.

"We see that (in MPPs) there will be (service) process accelerations that will certainly improve quality, efficiency, costs, and so on. We hope that the community can get the benefits with the existence of public service malls," she explained.

Widyantini informed that her ministry has prepared four measures to provide better public services for the community, namely providing direct service, visiting residents living in remote areas, and offering online services and through digital MPPs.

Based on data from the ministry, 272 MPPs have been built in the country between 2017 and December 12, 2024.
