The minister made the statement during a work visit to Mardodi Village, Ambarawa Sub-district, Pringsewu, Lampung, in commemoration of the 2024 National Social Solidarity Day (HKSN).
"The (social) assistance will continue to be monitored and optimized with the support of local governments, governors, district heads, and (social) companions so that more beneficiaries 'graduate' (exit poverty) and become independent," the minister remarked here on Friday.
Yusuf emphasized that the Ministry of Social Affairs' social programs in the future will be carried out more measurably, following the directive of President Prabowo Subianto, whose focus is on creating long-term impacts through community strengthening and empowerment programs.
The minister said his side praised former social assistance beneficiaries who have risen out of poverty and no longer require the government's social programs, noting that these families have become economically independent.

"This is a tangible manifestation of the success of the Social Ministry's programs in empowering the community. We hope that the number of 'graduates' of the social aid program will increase in the coming years," Minister Yusuf remarked.
The minister affirmed that empowering impoverished people to gain economic independence is part of the efforts to reduce the poverty rate.
He explained that eliminating poverty can be realized through collaboration among various parties, which is a manifestation of solidarity and friendship in the spirit of National Social Solidarity Day.
Moreover, Minister Yusuf explained that individuals who have successfully transitioned out of poverty and no longer need government aid have successfully run various businesses and provide opportunities for other beneficiaries in greater need of the assistance.
