Speaking here Tuesday, IKN Head Basuki Hadimuljono said that in addition to the Garuda Palace and toll roads, the opening of offices of coordinating ministries, an integrated waste processing facility, and the Sepaku Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) has also been proposed.
The OIKN is also currently proposing to carry out groundbreaking for several projects in Nusantara.
However, Hadimuljono said that the inauguration and groundbreaking events will depend on the President's schedule.
"His (President Prabowo's) presence will increase the interest of investors. I will carry out the groundbreaking, while the Public Works Minister will carry out the inauguration," he explained.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti revealed that the Garuda Palace in the new capital will be inaugurated by President Prabowo.
While she affirmed that the inauguration is part of her ministry's first 100-day work plan, she did not divulge when the palace will be opened.
Indonesia's 7th president Joko Widodo inaugurated the State Palace in Nusantara on October 11, 2024, as the official residence of the President of Indonesia.
The Garuda Palace, located behind the State Palace, will serve as the presidential office.
