"The president specifically requested the KPK to assist (with) the Hajj implementation this year," Ahmad, who also served as chair of the 2025 Hajj Supervisory Team (Timwas), remarked on Tuesday.
Ahmad underscored the importance of the assistance due to various findings and notes related to the 2024 Hajj organization, including discrepancies in additional Hajj quotas allocated by the Saudi Arabian government versus those determined by consultations with Commission VIII of DPR RI.
"We must be aware of these manipulated slots' findings. Those who are eligible should depart according to their rights," he emphasized.
In the 2025 Hajj, the departure of the first flight group (kloter) of Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims is planned for May 2-16, 2025.
The government and the Hajj Costs Working Committee of Commission VIII of DPR RI have approved the 2025 Hajj Pilgrimage Organization Cost (BPIH) of Rp89.4 million (USD5,300), while prospective Hajj pilgrims will pay a Hajj Pilgrimage Travel Cost (Bipih) of Rp55.4 million (USD3,200) per person.
The BPIH is composed of costs derived from the value of the benefits of managing Hajj finances per pilgrim, averaging Rp33 million (USD1,900), or accounting for 38 percent of the average BPIH for 2025. In contrast, the average Bipih per pilgrim is Rp55 million (USD5,200), making up 62 percent of the 2025 Hajj BPIH.
These costs cover flights, accommodation in Mecca and Medina, and living expenses during the Hajj pilgrimage.
Compared to the 2024 Hajj costs, the BPIH decreased by Rp4 million (USD239). The BPIH in 2024 amounted to Rp93 million per pilgrim (USD5,500).
Meanwhile, the 2025 Bipih decreased by Rp614 thousand (USD36) from last year's Bipih of Rp56 million (USD3,300).
