Abdul Wachid, the chair of DPR's working committee on Hajj cost, declared the exact cost, Rp89,410,258.79 per pilgrim, during a joint meeting with the Religious Affairs Ministry at the Parliament Complex here.
Minister Nasaruddin Umar, Deputy Minister Romo Muhammad Syafi'i, and Director General of Hajj and Umrah Hilman Latief also attended the meeting.
Wachid explained that prospective Hajj pilgrims would be responsible for paying only 62 percent of the total cost, which amounts to Rp55,431,750.78 (USD3,425.33), while the government will cover the remaining 38 percent, or totaling Rp33,978,508.01 (USD2,099.65).
He explained that the Hajj expenses will cover round-trip airfare from Indonesia to Saudi Arabia, accommodation in Mecca and Medina, and the daily living expenses during the pilgrimage.
He also noted that prospective pilgrims can deposit the amount payable directly into their Hajj accounts at banks and pay it in installments until the payment deadline.
The committee chair indicated that the Hajj cost for 2025 decreased by 4.28 percent from the 2024 cost, which was Rp93,410,286 (USD5,772.16) at the time.
