This was conveyed by the minister during a limited coordination meeting on food in Banten on Friday, according to a statement received here.
The priorities regarding the use of village funds have been regulated in the Villages Minister's Regulation Number 2 of 2024 concerning Operational Instructions for the Focuses of the Use of Village Funds in 2025.
First, village funds will be prioritized for tackling extreme poverty. If there is no extreme poverty in a village, the use of the funds will be further regulated by technical instructions, he said.
Second, he added, in 2025, village funds will also be prioritized to support the strengthening of villages so that they can adapt to climate change.
"Of course, we are also cooperating with the Ministry of Environment. We know that in villages, there are emergencies related to waste and other issues," he informed.
Third, village funds will also be used to improve health promotion and the provision of basic health services, including initiatives to tackle stunting, this year.
Furthermore, the use of village funds will focus on supporting food security programs.
The Villages Minister's Regulation Number 2 of 2024 requires villages to allocate at least 20 percent of the village funds for food security programs to achieve food self-sufficiency.
Village funds will also be prioritized to support villages' potential and advantages, acceleration of digitalization and labor-intensive development, and other priority sectors.
