The minister delivered this message at the 2025 National Villages Day commemoration event in Sumedang, West Java, on Wednesday.
In a statement on Wednesday, Karnavian underlined that the village budget is a stimulus for villages to become more independent.
Furthermore, he highlighted the need for village heads to develop entrepreneurial skills to boost village revenue.
Such skills are essential to help village heads identify potential in their respective villages, which can then be utilized to boost village revenue.
To maximize this potential, he suggested actions such as using vacant land, strengthening the food sector, encouraging micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and activating village-owned enterprises (BUMDes).

He expressed hope that the 2025 Villages Day Commemoration will provide momentum for evaluating the various efforts made in village development.
In addition, he expressed hope that all related parties would collaborate more effectively in advancing villages.
"The aspirations of the Indonesian nation rest not only with the central government but also with the village heads supported by regional heads," Karnavian affirmed.
