"We focus on serving the people. Our presence must be felt by the people in the form of accessible and improved quality services. We will continue to strive for in the future," the minister remarked on Wednesday.
The evaluation was based on five indicators: program achievement, alignment of policy plans with public needs, quality of leadership and coordination, budget governance, and policy communication.
Inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto as Minister of Religious Affairs on October 21, 2024, Umar has made several breakthroughs.
Collaborating with the House of Representatives (DPR RI), he successfully lowered Hajj costs by Rp4 million (USD237) compared to the previous year.
Umar is also committed to completing the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program for 625,481 Islamic school teachers and Islamic, Christian, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist, and Confucian religious teachers, along with the recruitment of 20,722 civil service candidates (CPNS) and 89,781 contract-based government employees (PPPK) within the ministry.
"This year, we will also hold several big events such as hosting the International MTQ with participation from 38 countries, PPG preparations, Ramadan, and the Hajj organization," Umar stated.
During the 100-day performance evaluation of the Red and White Cabinet Ministers, CELIOS posed two questions to respondents: identifying the best-performing minister and underperforming minister within the Cabinet.
Umar emerged as the best performer, achieving a score close to 100 points.
Umar also ranked first in the performance evaluation of ministers and heads of agencies in the social and political sectors.
The ministry's Head of the Public Relations and Communication Bureau, Akhmad Fauzin, stated that this outcome serves as motivation to continue working and delivering the best service to the people.
