Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has warned his cabinet ministers and heads of government institutions that their positions will be at risk if they fail to perform effectively.

“The people demand a clean and proper government. Hence, I want to enforce that. I will remove those who do not truly work for the interests of the people and the nation,” Prabowo stated on Wednesday evening in response to a question from reporters about a potential cabinet reshuffle.

He reiterated his commitment to zero tolerance for state officials who are not serious about their duties.

“We will not hesitate to act. I have given warnings many times. I will take action against anyone who is stubborn or refuses to join this major movement to fulfill the people’s demands for a clean government,” he stressed.

Prabowo emphasized his determination to maintain a corruption-free government.

He urged all ministers, heads of institutions, and state officials to have the courage to engage in self-correction.

“All officials, all institutions, clean yourselves up! I remind all officials: your loyalty is to the nation, the state, and the people of Indonesia,” he stated.

“If you are not loyal to the people of Indonesia, if you obstruct policies designed to help them, I will take action!” Prabowo warned.
