During a hearing session with Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR) and several ministries in Jakarta on Thursday, it was announced that the budget of the PDT Ministry has been cut by Rp1.03 trillion (around US$59million) due to the efficiency policy.
Speaker of the parliamentary commission, Lasarus, noted that after the reduction, the final budget for the ministry this year will be Rp1.1 trillion (US$68 million).
However, PDT Minister Yandri Susanto, who participated in the meeting, did not specify which items or programs would be affected by the budget cut.
In this regard, Lasarus underlined that Commission V and the PDT Ministry will convene next week to discuss the details, as Thursday's hearing was attended by multiple state institutions.
