If the CKG program runs well, the cost of treatment can be reduced due to early prevention, the minister noted in a statement from his office on Monday.
"For example, diabetes can be prevented by early examination to overcome the disease," he remarked while reviewing the implementation of the CKG program at the Menganti Health Center in Gresik District, East Java, on Monday.
Yusuf explained that this program, initiated by President Prabowo Subianto, targets 280 million people in Indonesia and emphasizes the importance of early check-ups to prevent diseases.
Health check-ups include blood pressure measurements, blood sugar tests to check for diabetes, Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments using scales, as well as eye, ear, and dental check-ups.
All age groups are eligible to access this program, with a validity period from the day of their birthday until 30 days after, targeting the elderly, babies, pregnant women, toddlers, preschool children, teenagers, and adults.
On the occasion, the minister also disbursed Social Rehabilitation Assistance in the form of nutritional packages, prayer equipment, and personal hygiene to support the welfare of the elderly, worth Rp68.7 million (USD4 thousand).
On that occasion, Yusuf stated that 125 thousand beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program (PKH) assistance were celebrating their birthdays on Monday, along with 212 thousand recipients of routine basic necessities and several other social cadres.
"They can make the most of their birthday to take part in this health check-up program," he stated.
Yusuf then emphasized that his side continues to disseminate information on the free health check to its cadres and the wider community.
The Free Health Check Program rolls out today and aims to increase access to health services for vulnerable communities while ensuring they receive optimal medical attention.
