UI Rector Prof. Heri Hermansyah stated on Wednesday that both universities share a common vision for academic growth and research.
"This partnership is expected to benefit students, lecturers, and the broader academic community," he said.
He noted that the collaboration facilitates knowledge exchange and creates greater opportunities for students and lecturers to engage in global research.
Meanwhile, SeoulTech President Kim Dong Hwan remarked that in recent years, SeoulTech has strengthened its academic ties with various universities across Asia, including UI.
"We aim to encourage more UI students to join academic exchanges at SeoulTech while also creating opportunities for our students to study at UI. We also hope to expand cooperation in innovative research and technology," he stated.
This partnership will include student and lecturer exchanges, joint degree programs, international conferences in engineering, computer science, and psychology, as well as collaborative research funded by international grants.
UI Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, stated that in addition to joint degree programs and student exchanges, the two universities would also conduct joint research in engineering, psychology, and computer science.
UI and SeoulTech will also establish a scholarship program and host academic conferences as platforms for sharing ideas and innovations.
Currently, UI is planning to construct a new building to support the growth of its Korean Studies program, cultural research, and academic partnerships with various universities in South Korea.
