Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs Ismail communicated this during a meeting with Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Thursday.
"For 2025, there is prioritization that will affect the community. The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs will propose an additional budget of Rp9.69 trillion," he remarked.
Ismail confirmed that his ministry will explore alternative financing options to fulfill obligations and ensure the continuity of essential public services' operations.
One of the efforts made is through the permit for the use of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) and increasing the PNBP of Public Service Agencies (BLU).
On that occasion, Ismail sought support from Commission I of the DPR to approve the proposed additional budget for 2025, including the Rp280 billion allocation for the data center project.
Deputy Chair of Commission I Dave Laksono noted that his commission supports the ministry's proposal to increase the budget by Rp9,685,741,176,000, including the Rp280 billion budget designated for completing the data center project.
At the working meeting, Ismail also stated that the proposed budget efficiency for the ministry's 2025 budget ceiling, initially set at Rp4.49 trillion, or 58.17 percent, had been restructured or adjusted by the Ministry of Finance to Rp3.84 trillion, or 49.57 percent.
