This commitment was formalized in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding aid distribution between Baznas and PRCS, which was signed some time ago at the PRCS office in Cairo, Egypt.
"This is part of our program to ease the burden of the Palestinians where we distribute medical equipment assistance to improve facilities at the Palestine Hospital in Egypt," Baznas Secretary Subhan Cholid noted in a statement on Friday.
According to Cholid, the medical assistance will focus on upgrading the laboratory department and laparoscopic surgery capabilities at the Palestine Hospital in Egypt. The upgrades include an endoscope system, chemical analysis tools, blood bank refrigerators, storage cabinets, plasma freezers, and hemoglobin A1HBC test tools.
"We hope medical services for Palestinian patients in Egypt, especially those affected by the conflict, can be more optimal with this assistance," Cholid remarked.
He noted that this medical aid is part of Baznas' long-term strategy to strengthen the role of alms for global humanitarian diplomacy.
The secretary remarked that Baznas aims to demonstrate through this assistance that alms can be a solution to global humanitarian issues.
"Baznas will continue to develop humanitarian programs to bring broad benefits to people in need, both at home and abroad," he emphasized.
In the statement, Director of the Cairo Palestine Hospital, Muhammad Ramadhan, expressed his appreciation for the support provided by Indonesian people through Baznas.
"We are very grateful to Baznas and the Indonesian people for this assistance. The medical equipment will certainly help improve the quality of health services for our patients, especially those affected by the conflict," Ramadhan remarked.
This assistance is a follow-up step from the Baznas International Forum (BIF) in November 2024, which emphasized Baznas' commitment and role in global humanitarian diplomacy.
In the future, Baznas will continue to team up with various parties to support humanity and community welfare in multiple parts of the world.
