"One of the achievements of the Indonesian industry that deserves to be appreciated is the manufacturing value added in 2023, which reached US$255 billion, making Indonesia the 12th-ranked manufacturing country globally," Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said.
He made the remarks at the kick-off for Industrial Technology Pioneers 2025 here on Wednesday.
Since 2022, the contribution of the manufacturing sector to the national gross domestic product (GDP) has continued to increase, he noted.
In 2024, the export value of the non-oil and gas processing industry was recorded at US$196.54 billion. It accounted for 74.25 percent of the total national export value of US$264.70 billion.
In addition, the export value of the manufacturing industry last year increased by 5.33 percent compared to 2023.
Meanwhile, the realization of investment in the processing industry in 2024 reached Rp721.3 trillion, accounting for 42.1 percent of the total investment realization of Rp1,714.2 trillion nationwide.
The contribution of manufacturing investment in 2024 was also the highest compared to other sectors, and even reflected a significant increase compared to Rp596.3 trillion in 2023.
In addition, the non-oil and gas processing industry recorded a growth of 4.75 percent in 2024, with accumulated economic growth reaching 5.03 percent.
Furthermore, to strengthen the contribution of the domestic industry, the Ministry of Industry will hold the Indonesia 4.0 Conference and Expo on September 24 and 25, 2025, in Jakarta.
Held since 2019, the annual event seeks to accelerate the digital transformation and the Industrial Revolution in Indonesia.
It aims to bring together stakeholders from the government, industry, and financial institutions, as well as technology providers, academics, and industry consultants.
