"We continue to coordinate with related stakeholders so the implementation and supervision of B40 can run according to plan to provide optimal benefits for the community," the ministry's director general of new, renewable energy, and energy conservation, Eniya Listiani Dewi, said on Friday.
To achieve the distribution target, she added, supervision and monitoring activities will continue to be carried out optimally.
Dewi said she believes that the B40 program can help reduce Indonesia's dependence on imports of fuel oil (BBM).
"This strategic step is part of the government's commitment to accelerating the energy transition, reducing dependence on fuel imports, and accelerating the achievement of clean and sustainable energy targets," she said.
Since its implementation on January 1, 2025, the B40 program has achieved significant distribution realization.
As of February 18, 2025, the domestic distribution of B40 reached 1.47 million kiloliters (kl), or 9.4 percent of the total national allocation of 15.616 million kl.
Of this amount, 767,283 kl came from PSO distribution, accounting for 10.6 percent of the total PSO allocation of 7.55 million kl; and 706,481 kl from non-PSO distribution, accounting for 8.8 percent of the total non-PSO allocation of 8.062 million kl.
Currently, 79 of the 88 delivery points (fuel terminals) are distributing B40. One delivery point is still in the facility upgrade stage to support full implementation, while the other eight delivery points are in the preparation stage.
To ensure a smooth transition, the government is providing relaxation in B35 distribution for delivery points that are still adjusting facilities and infrastructure until February 28, 2025.
