Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Indonesian Capital Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono expressed hope that the Indonesian Capital Investment Management Agency (Danantara) would participate in the development of IKN Nusantara in East Kalimantan.

"Since Danantara is intended to invest from existing dividends, I hope they can set aside a small chunk of money for IKN development," Hadimuljono noted in a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

He is optimistic that Danantara's presence, through its programs, would provide significant support to IKN's development in East Kalimantan.

On Monday, President Prabowo Subianto signed Presidential Decree Number 30 of 2025 concerning the Appointment of the Supervisory Board and Executive Board of the Danantara Investment Management Agency.

The president also signed Law Number 1 of 2025 concerning the Third Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).

He then signed Government Regulation (PP) Number 10 of 2025 concerning the Organization and Governance of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara).

Danantara, which is projected to become Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, is said to manage assets worth more than US$900 billion, with an initial fund projection of US$20 billion.

The president remarked that the funds managed by Danantara will be directed toward financing sustainable and high-impact projects in various sectors, such as renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, downstream industries, and food production.

In its structure, Danantara will be supervised by a supervisory board and an advisory board appointed directly by the president.

Danantara's establishment marks a new era of transformation in the management of the country's strategic investments.

This is also part of the government's commitment to realizing Astacita, a grand vision to bring the Indonesian economy to a higher level through sustainable and inclusive investment.

While attending the Gerindra Party's event on February 15, 2025, Prabowo also urged former presidents and leaders of religious organizations to help oversee the management of Danantara's funds.

"Danantara is the power of the future, and we must protect it together. Therefore, I ask for all former presidents' willingness to participate as supervisors in this fund. If necessary, leaders of religious organizations, such as Muhammadiyah, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), and also Indonesian Bishops' Conference (KWI) can assist us in supervision," he remarked.
