Earlier in the day, President Prabowo enacted Presidential Decision No. 30 of 2025 on Danantara's board of advisors and executive board and Government Regulation No. 10 of 2025 on Danantara's organization and governance.
"In the name of God, today, Monday, February 24, 2025, as the President of the Republic of Indonesia, I officially launch the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency or Danantara Indonesia," the president stated during the launch ceremony at the Presidential Palace complex here.
Prabowo and former presidents Widodo and Yudhoyono then proceeded to press a button, symbolically launching the Danantara SWF. Widodo was observed extending his congratulations to Prabowo by shaking hands, marking the successful launch.
In addition to the former presidents, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, former vice presidents Jusuf Kalla, Boediono, and Ma'ruf Amin, as well as State-owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir and Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani, were present at the launch stage.

Danantara is projected to become Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund by managing assets worth more than US$900 billion. For the initial funding, a budget of US$20 billion is prepared for the agency.
In his remarks before the launch, Prabowo emphasized that Danantara must become a national development instrument to optimize the management of Indonesia's wealth for the people's welfare.
The president stated that the government has demonstrated its commitment to managing state assets with strict financial discipline and responsible governance through Danantara, which is expected to help realize long-term prosperity for the Indonesian people.
Meanwhile, Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Head Hasan Nasbi confirmed that former presidents and leaders of public organizations will serve on Danantara's board of advisors.
