"To maintain the continuity of research in several sectors, efforts to bolster networks with global institutions and researchers are needed to encourage national scientific development and better development process," she said in Jakarta on Monday.
According to Moerdijat, stakeholders must pay serious attention to the continuity of research to anticipate the ever-changing global conditions in various sectors.
By encouraging research in a number of sectors, the potential to realize innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness as basic capital to win competition in the globalization era can be secured, she said.
She noted that Indonesia ranked 27th globally in the 2024 World Competitiveness Ranking (WCR) of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD).
According to the institution, increasing efficiency in the government sector, improving business infrastructure, and ease of doing business are some aspects that need to be realized so that Indonesia can consistently increase its competitiveness, she highlighted.
To this end, the MPR deputy speaker said that the attention of stakeholders to research activities must be increased to produce policies that promote efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness in the development process.
