As stated in a police release in Jakarta on Wednesday, Listyo spoke extensively about the need for regional leaders to contribute to Indonesia's fight against corruption to achieve clean governance, stimulate economic growth, and improve public welfare.
He stressed that effective anti-corruption measures are essential for ensuring the smooth implementation of government programs.
Addressing hundreds of regional heads, the Polri chief underlined that his institution has implemented various strategies to combat crime, including corruption-related offenses.
He highlighted that Polri has been working to identify corruption-prone areas within government institutions and provide recommendations to prevent officials from engaging in such activities.
Demonstrating the police’s commitment to eradicating corruption, Listyo shared his phone number with the regional leaders, signaling his willingness to coordinate and consult them.
He noted that this approach aims to facilitate communication, allowing regional heads to easily reach out to him regarding legal and security matters.
Under the direction of President Prabowo Subianto, the Ministry of Home Affairs is organizing a retreat, or leadership orientation, for approximately 500 regional leaders, including governors, district heads, and mayors, from February 21 to 28, 2025.
This event, featuring ministers and heads of other state institutions as speakers, is designed to strengthen synergy between the central and regional governments.
