The Ministry's Director of Strategy and Policy for Digital Space Supervision, Muchtarul Huda, stated that this cyber patrol step aims to prevent the spread of negative information and content.
"We have a system that operates round-the-clock, seven days a week. That means we never take a day off, not even on public holidays like Eid al-Fitr," Huda remarked at the Safer Internet Day event here on Thursday.
The negative information and content being analyzed are varied, especially those related to child pornography, which is an urgent violation.
Huda explained that the regulation addresses negative information using two criteria: urgent violations and compliance with existing laws and regulations.
"Child pornography is one of the urgent cases, so it needs to be handled differently. It means we have to take it down or block it within four hours," Huda stated.
Huda stressed that protecting children in the digital space also requires optimal cooperation among stakeholders.
This implies that safeguarding children in the digital realm is not just the responsibility of parents as the children's guardians but also of schools, the government, law enforcement, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and every electronic system provider (PSE).
"All stakeholders must work together and prioritize the interests of children," Huda said.
He explained that children, as the future of the nation, have the right to a safe, friendly, and comfortable environment in the digital world so that they can be guided to achieve the best positive outcomes.
