Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto encouraged cooperation with football clubs and private parties as part of the government's commitment to advancing football in Indonesia.

This was conveyed by the president during the inauguration of 17 stadiums in various regions on Monday, as quoted from the official Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) website on Tuesday.

During the inauguration, Prabowo emphasized the importance of collaboration for the development and management of sports infrastructure, supported by cooperation among the government, football clubs, and private entities, to achieve optimal results.

"I believe that the success of these 17 stadiums will also ignite the will to do more. The government targets the construction of 20 new stadiums over the next two to three years," Prabowo remarked on Monday.

He expressed hope that football clubs and private parties would participate in managing the stadiums so that the built facilities could be utilized maximally for the advancement of national football.

He also assured that the construction of stadiums would not cease with these newly renovated and built venues but would continue with more projects in the next two or three years.

"Every region should have a good stadium," Prabowo stressed.

He then reiterated the government’s dedication to developing and supporting national football, which will be further reinforced through various policies and infrastructure support.

"We have proven that we want to advance and support football, and we will continue this with various efforts, focus, creativity, and policies that can help us achieve significant results," he stated.

Furthermore, he highlighted that a country's success in football is not determined by its wealth but rather by its determination and spirit.
