He stated that his side fully supports the Ministry of Health's initiative to provide free health check-ups for online transportation drivers.
"This initiative has extraordinary benefits for the transportation industry, especially for drivers, as it is directly related to safety aspects," he remarked in a statement here on Sunday.
He noted that the Ministry of Transportation lauded and supported the implementation of the free health check-up program, especially for online transportation drivers.
"This aligns with our focus on creating safe transportation," he said while attending a free health check-up for online transportation drivers accompanied by Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin.
He explained that safe transportation is not only related to vehicles roadworthiness but also pertains to the individuals driving them.
Therefore, he expressed hope that this check-up program can continue to be enhanced so that more people can benefit from it.
"If the drivers are healthy, then it can be assured that they can work well, maximize their performance, and pay attention to safety factors. I hope that this free health check-up program can be improved so that it can serve a wider community," he said.
The collaboration includes providing health service facilities at various points, including at transportation hubs.
The involvement of health personnel is critical to ensure the safety of travelers and transportation operators.
“By conducting physical examinations, blood tests, and urine tests by health professionals in the field, it is hoped that travelers can carry out their journeys to and from their hometowns safely and comfortably," Purwagandhi stated.
