During the inspection, Prabowo was accompanied by Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and several officials from state airport operator Angkasa Pura.
"We have evaluated and interacted with airplane travelers to ensure that all aspects of service and security are functioning well," he noted here on Saturday.
He affirmed that security measures and services offered to Eid travelers at Soetta Airport operate smoothly and safely and adhere to established procedures.
He stated that as of two days before Eid, the number of passengers at the airport continued to rise, with about a 4.9 percent surge compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
"There has been an increase of around 4.9 percent in passenger numbers compared to 2024's homecoming period. This has become one of the main transportation choices, with the highest travel to Kualanamu (Medan)," he highlighted.
Data from InJourney indicates that the highest passenger movement is towards Denpasar, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Palembang, and Pontianak.
Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi added that during this Eid homecoming travel period, his side has made several improvements to the flight passenger service systems and facilities.
He explained that passenger flows at Soetta Airport's Terminal 1B and 2F have been reorganized to manage potential crowding at the airport.
"As a result, the crowding that often occurs at Terminal 3 can be significantly reduced despite an increase in passenger numbers during the homecoming," he explained.
