Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to visit the Amiri Diwan Palace in Doha on Sunday, to meet with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to witness some Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) signing.

The Presidential Secretariat informed on Sunday that this visit is Prabowo's key agenda aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Qatar, especially in strategic cross-sector cooperation.

"At around 9:12 p.m Doha time (on Saturday), President Prabowo safely landed from his flight from Cairo to Doha," the Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, said.

President Prabowo warmly welcomed by representatives of the Qatari government and the staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Doha.

During the visit to the Amiri Diwan Palace, the President would be welcomed in a state ceremony style that included the playing of the national anthems of both countries and the guards of honor inspection.

"There, the national anthems of both countries will be played. After that, he will conduct an inspection of the guards of honor," Permana said.

President Prabowo and the Emir of Qatar would hold a bilateral meeting and a tête-à-tête or private conversation to discuss various strategic issues and cooperation opportunities.

In the meeting, the two heads of state would witness the signing of several important memoranda of understanding (MoUs) that are expected to further strengthen the economic, investment, and development relations between Indonesia and Qatar.

"After the meeting, the two leaders will witness (the signing) of several very strategic MoUs," he said.

After Qatar, President Prabowo is scheduled to continue his journey to Amman, Jordan, part of his Middle East tour.
