Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Religious Affairs is appealing to Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to monitor weather conditions to prevent dehydration while participating in the pilgrimage.

"Please pay attention to the weather. On Saturday, May 3, the temperature in Medina reaches 36 degrees Celsius during the day, with around 14 percent humidity," Secretary of the ministry's Hajj and Umrah Implementation Directorate, Arfi Hakim, stated.

He delivered this message at an online press conference on the implementation of the 2025 Hajj in Jakarta on Saturday.

He appealed to Hajj pilgrims to maintain their health by getting sufficient rest, consuming nutritious food, and avoiding strenuous physical activity, especially under the hot sun.

Hakim encouraged pilgrims to use the hotel facilities provided for their comfort and daily needs and to make the most of the available digital services to help ensure smooth worship activities.

Furthermore, he urged pilgrims to maintain togetherness and help each other as well as report any issues requiring special attention to the Hajj officers in Medina.

According to the Integrated Hajj Information and Computerization System (Siskohat), as of May 3, 2025, at 08:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), as many as 6,597 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have arrived in Medina via the Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport.

On Saturday, 8,294 Hajj pilgrims and officers are scheduled to depart to Medina from various embarkation points in Indonesia.

Indonesia will dispatch 221 thousand Hajj pilgrims in 2025. Meanwhile, the number of Indonesian Hajj officers is capped at 4,420 after Saudi Arabia granted an additional quota of 2,210.
