Hafid explained that this step is necessary as cybercriminals are already using AI to target victims not only in Indonesia but also globally.
Speaking at the Risk-Based Mentoring Program event in Jakarta on Thursday, Hafid underscored that her ministry had implemented AI to manage harmful content and combat cybercrimes in the digital space, especially in blocking access to online gambling.
The use of AI in analyzing crimes can accelerate and improve the effectiveness of efforts to curb online gambling in society.
Hafid believes that the PPATK and Polri should take similar measures, as both agencies are currently actively working to eradicate online gambling.
"We can remind each other that we have no choice but to use artificial intelligence in tackling crimes in cyberspace," she remarked.

With the use of AI, law enforcement measures for these crimes can be carried out more effectively.
The minister also affirmed that the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is actively working to improve the community's digital literacy and raise awareness of cybercrimes as a shared threat.
She also lauded the PPATK and Polri for promptly reporting the latest data on efforts to address online gambling, including transaction values and law enforcement actions taken.
"Digital literacy is the foundation because it would make people understand them (cybercrimes) as our common enemy," she stated.
