Prime Minister Paetongtarn greeted President Subianto in front of the Indonesian President’s vehicle as it arrived at the Government House courtyard.
“Thank you for receiving me,” President Subianto told Prime Minister Paetongtarn.
PM Paetongtarn inquired about President Subianto's well-being, to which the president responded that he was in good health.
The two leaders then walked together to the honor platform. The Indonesian national anthem "Indonesia Raya'' was played in the courtyard of Thailand's Government House. The welcoming ceremony continued with the local military band performing the Thai national anthem ''Phleng Chat Thai.''
President Subianto and PM Paetongtarn jointly inspected the honor guard. After the inspection, the Thai prime minister introduced her cabinet ministers and top military officials to President Subianto.
Among the Thai officials introduced were Deputy Prime Ministers Phumtham Wechayachai and Anutin Chanvirakul, as well as Ministers Chusak Sirinil, Jiraporn Sindhuprai, Tawee Sodsong, Akanat Promphan, and Deputy Minister Paopoom Rojanasakul.
President Subianto also introduced several of his ministers to PM Paetongtarn, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. (Inf.) Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesia’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand Rachmat Budiman.
The two leaders and their respective delegations entered the Phakdi Bodin Building, Government House. Inside, they paused for a group photo before leading a bilateral meeting between the governments of Indonesia and Thailand.
According to an official release from the Office of the Thai Prime Minister, the two countries discussed several strategic issues between Indonesia and Thailand.
President Subianto and PM Paetongtarn also delivered a joint statement in front of reporters accompanying President Subianto and members of the press based at the Thai Prime Minister's Office.
President Subianto departed Jakarta on Saturday night (May 17) for an official visit to Bangkok, Thailand, to meet with King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
The president’s official agenda was scheduled for Monday, and he was set to return to Indonesia later the same day.
