Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto returned to Jakarta on Tuesday after wrapping up his agenda at the 46th Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The summit was held on May 26 and 27, 2025.

Accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Prabowo left from Subang Air Base in Selangor, Malaysia, for Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon.

Several Indonesian and Malaysian officials saw Prabowo off at the air base.

They included Malaysian Agriculture and Food Security Minister, Mohamad bin Sabu; Chief of Ceremony from the Malaysian Prime Minister's Department, Rozainor; and the Indonesian Deputy Ambassador to Malaysia, Rossy Verona.

Those bureaucrats had welcomed the Indonesian head of state upon his arrival in Malaysia on Sunday (May 25) evening.

In Kuala Lumpur, Prabowo participated in a series of activities organized under the 46th ASEAN Summit, which was themed "Inclusivity and Sustainability."

In his address at the summit's plenary session on Monday, he called upon all ASEAN member states to further deepen their bond in the face of the intensifying rivalry among great powers.

He emphasized the need for ASEAN to "respond more swiftly to future uncertainties and external shocks."

Alongside nine fellow ASEAN leaders, Prabowo signed the ASEAN Declaration 2045: Our Shared Future.

The Indonesian leader also took part in a panel session, a retreat, as well as meetings with representatives from the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), ASEAN Youth, and ASEAN Business Advisory Council.

On the sidelines of the summit, Prabowo held bilateral meetings with Laotian Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

Monday's agenda concluded with Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim hosting ASEAN leaders for a dinner at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.

The following day, Prabowo joined the 16th Summit of the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia -Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area and the 2nd ASEAN-GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) Summit.
