This introduction took place as Prabowo and Macron proceeded to the credential room inside the palace, as monitored via live broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat.
Prabowo paused near the palace entrance to introduce Didiet to Macron and Brigitte. Didiet shook hands with Macron, engaging in a brief conversation, before being introduced to Brigitte, who also exchanged greetings and spoke briefly with him.
After the introduction, Prabowo led his guests into the credential room for the next part of the agenda, which included signing the guestbook, a photo session, and a one-on-one meeting between the two heads of state in the President’s office.
Inside the President’s office, Prabowo showed Macron and Brigitte two paintings on display: a portrait of Indonesia’s first President, Soekarno, and a painting of national hero I Gusti Ngurah Rai, while explaining their importance.
These two artworks drew President Macron’s attention as he entered the room.
President Prabowo elaborated on President Soekarno and recounted the heroic resistance of I Gusti Ngurah Rai and his troops during the Puputan Margarana battle against Dutch colonial troops.
Following the tour, Prabowo, Macron, and Brigitte posed for a group photo before the two leaders began their one-on-one meeting.
Brigitte then exited the President’s office and was escorted to her vehicle by Didiet. She then departed from the Merdeka Palace area.
Didiet, a graduate of Parsons School of Design (École Parsons à Paris), spent several years living and working in Paris as a designer.
