He explained that the government is actively working to eliminate the ODOL practice due to its detrimental impact.
He pointed out that the main risk associated with ODOL is safety, as this practice has been proven to cause numerous traffic accidents. In addition, it leads to severe road damage, the minister explained.
AHY stated that the government annually allocates Rp41 trillion (USD1 = around Rp16,299) to repair damaged and potholed roads.

At the event, Systemiq, in collaboration with the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and various key stakeholders from the government, think tanks, civil society, NGOs, industry, and business actors, released a series of important findings on Jakarta's air quality.
The 2023 emissions inventory in this report identifies transportation, industry, power plants, waste burning, and construction as the main sources of air pollution in Jakarta.
Transportation is the largest contributor, accounting for 65 percent of NOX emissions, 90 percent of CO, and 61 percent of PM2.5 emissions.
