Head of BP Taskin Budiman Sudjatmiko stated here on Wednesday that the training program is a collaboration between the Indonesian government and two Chinese institutions: Global New Energy Academy and Beijing Explore The Unknown Tech Ltd.
“The main target of this program is families in the extreme poverty category who have never had access to formal training or employment placement,” he remarked following a meeting with representatives from the two Chinese institutions.

He also emphasized the need for a serious government response to the wave of layoffs that has occurred in recent months amid global social, political, and economic uncertainties.
“Many workers have been laid off. We need systemic solutions. Hence, BP Taskin is preparing vocational training and job placements directly linked to industry needs,” Sudjatmiko explained.
The vocational training will equip participants with skills that match labor market requirements, both domestically and globally, especially in strategic sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture, electric vehicles, solar panels, high-speed rail, healthcare services, and foreign language skills.

“Many foreign investors, especially from China, tend to bring in their own workforce due to our lack of qualified human resources. Through this cooperation, they will help train Indonesian workers to meet their industrial standards—whether in Indonesia or abroad,” he remarked.
BP Taskin aims to launch the program this year. Participants will be selected from poor and extremely poor families, particularly those who are senior high school graduates or have vocational high school backgrounds.
Sudjatmiko noted that participants will be placed directly in partner companies of Beijing Explore The Unknown Tech Ltd.
“We will coordinate with the Investment Ministry (BKPM) and relevant ministries to ensure the program’s sustainability and impact,” he stated.
