"We urge the public to respect and care for the elderly. Do not neglect or abandon them, and the state gives its highest honor to our senior citizens," the deputy minister remarked during a free cataract surgery and electronic ID card (KTP) issuance event here on Thursday.
He noted that the Ministry of Social Affairs has distributed various forms of assistance to the elderly.
In commemoration of the 2025 National Elderly Day, several free public services, including cataract surgeries, home repairs, house cleaning, and other social programs, were held to serve seniors in various regions.

In the meantime, activities like the one in Subang are a tangible form of the government’s care," Priyono affirmed.
