During the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the ministry and the company here on Wednesday, Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the cooperation would provide MSMEs opportunities to expand their market by showcasing their flagship products at IKEA stores.
The Ministry of Trade is committed to building the MSME ecosystem, both within the country and abroad.
As part of this commitment, it has launched a domestic market safeguarding program to enhance the quality and competitiveness of local MSME products to help them dominate the Indonesian market.

To expand their reach overseas, the ministry has implemented the UMKM BISA Ekspor program, which includes MSME business matching by Indonesian trade representatives in 33 countries.
In the period from January to May 2025, at least 296 business matching events, 197 pitching sessions, and 99 meetings were held to connect MSMEs with buyers. They resulted in transactions worth US$68.65 million in total.
"(This) Collaboration expands the marketing of local products, both through the stores of IKEA Indonesia and as local partners in global supply chains," the minister said.
Meanwhile, Director General of Domestic Trade at the ministry Iqbal Shoffan Shofwan said that Indonesian products such as dolls, carpets, wood, and rattan have entered IKEA's global stores.
He expressed optimism that the MoU would open opportunities for Indonesian MSMEs to market their products.
"We have (the hope) that this partnership will increase the involvement of MSMEs' products in the supply chains so that there will be more Indonesian products in IKEA stores worldwide," he said.
