Sigi (ANTARA) - The Sigi District Government in Central Sulawesi has announced that the 2025 Lake Lindu Festival (FDL) is one of the efforts to preserve the region's local culture.

Sigi District Head Moh Rizal Intjenae announced that the Lake Lindu Festival will be held on July 3-5 in Lindu Sub-District, Sigi District, Central Sulawesi.

"The FDL is not just an annual event but a manifestation of the local government's commitment to preserving local culture, promoting natural tourism potential, and fostering creative economic growth in Sigi Regency, especially in the Lake Lindu area," Rizal stated during a meeting with the press in Bora Village on Saturday.

He emphasized that the local government fully supports the implementation of the Lake Lindu Festival as both a cultural celebration and a strategic platform to promote local wisdom in Sigi District.

"Through this festival, we hope to strengthen the identity of the Lindu community and open up broader access to the tourism sector and the local economy," he remarked.

This year, the FDL adopts the theme "Human, Nature, and Its Culture as the Pillars of Sustainable Earth."

"This theme reflects the spirit of environmental preservation that is in harmony with the local cultural values and the wisdom of the indigenous Lindu people," he explained.

The festival will feature various activities, including traditional arts and cultural performances, local SME exhibitions, ecotourism sports, and environmental preservation efforts.

"Through this festival, we hope to create an effective promotional platform to introduce Lake Lindu as one of the premier destinations in Sigi District while also strengthening the community's role in preserving natural and cultural heritage," he remarked.

The Sigi District Government has officially launched the 2025 Lake Lindu Festival, marked by a symbolic rice-pounding ceremony led by Sigi District Head Moh Rizal Intjenae, symbolizing the start of cultural celebrations and the strengthening of cross-sector collaboration.
