In a statement issued on Thursday, Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture said the two ministers discussed potential investments in the sugar sector and exports of crude palm oil.
They also explored plans to establish a joint fertilizer plant in Indonesia, open Indonesia’s market to Russian meat imports, and enhance agricultural research and technical cooperation through technology exchange.
The meeting was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, underscoring the significance of agricultural cooperation as a key pillar in bilateral relations.
During the meeting at the Konstantinovsky Palace in St. Petersburg on Thursday, Putin reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to expanding strategic cooperation with Indonesia across various sectors, including agriculture.
“There are many opportunities, and we have the capacity to grow together,” he stated.
On the same occasion, President Prabowo said that Indonesia–Russia relations continue to develop positively and hold significant potential, particularly in economic collaboration.
“Our relationship keeps improving. I see significant progress in many sectors. The economy is strengthening, and cooperation is becoming broader and more productive,” he remarked.
