The Rp1 special fare will be valid all day long on June 22, from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time, according to Jakarta Transportation Office Head Syafrin Liputo.
"This is to support people's mobility to enjoy and celebrate Jakarta's anniversary," Liputo stated here on Friday.
The special fare will be accommodated by extending operating hours for public transportation services in some areas. Transjakarta and Jakarta MRT will serve the public until 1 a.m. local time on June 23, 2025, and Jakarta LRT will also extend its service hours, he added.
The extended hours will apply to Transjakarta routes that connect to locations hosting Jakarta's 498th anniversary commemoration events, Liputo noted.
The agency head remarked that the special fare and extended operational hours are tokens of appreciation for current public transport users and aim to encourage more people to use this means of transportation.
"Meanwhile, Mikrotrans, Transjakarta Cares, and other Transjakarta services with Rp0 fare will continue to operate normally without any tariff changes," he remarked.
Through the special fare policy, the Jakarta Provincial Authority encouraged Jakartans to celebrate the anniversary of their city sustainably and affordably. "We hope the special service will be enjoyed by all people optimally," Liputo stated.
