Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Rini Widyantini underscored the key role of the National Police (Polri) in supporting thematic bureaucratic reforms in the fields of poverty alleviation, investment, and energy downstreaming.

In a statement here on Friday, she noted that in every thematic bureaucratic reform program, there is potential for disruption or crime that can hinder its implementation.

For instance, in terms of food security, there are threats from the fertilizer mafia, fraud, or theft that put farmers at risk.

"Polri is expected to be at the forefront, guaranteeing security and taking firm action against these illegal practices," Widyantini said.

According to her, the role of Polri in making thematic bureaucratic reforms a success also includes its education and counseling functions, food distribution and logistics supervision functions, and security stability functions.

Nevertheless, the key role of Polri also needs to be accompanied by sustainable transformation efforts.

Going forward, Polri's transformation will be directed in line with four main elements: institutional grand design, public services grand design, human resources grand design, and digital transformation grand design.

A more systemic and broad-impact leap is deemed essential to address the development of challenges and meet people's expectations.

Bureaucratic reforms are carried out to respond to those challenges by emphasizing the basic values of modern bureaucracy, namely transparency, accountability, and collaboration.

"These three are the main pillars in realizing the Polri institution that is not only robust in terms of operations but also responsive, adaptive, and trusted by the public," she remarked.

In the statement, she also expressed appreciation for the various achievements made by Polri.

The 2024 Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) score of Polri rose compared to the previous year, categorized as Very Good.

The Public Satisfaction Index (IKM) for traffic services also increased from 84.83 in 2023 to 94.92 in 2024.
